Oahu and Kauai are two very different Hawaiian Islands, each offering their particular charms and events to enjoy during your visit to paradise. We’ve picked a few that offer fun the entire family.

OAHU EVENTS

Honolulu/Waikiki Lei Day Events – May 1 – 2

You will be able to find Lei Day events on all islands. On Oahu, head over to Kapiolani Park and the Bandstand in Waikiki to partake in the festivities.

13th Annual Waikiki SPAM Jam - May 2, 2015

SPAM is a beloved food in Hawaii. The Waikiki SPAM Jam is an annual street festival that takes place on Kalakaua Avenue and celebrates Hawaii's love of SPAM. This is a fun, uniquely contemporary Hawaiian event. Proceeds raised from the festival benefit the Hawaii Food Bank.

The Honolulu Triathlon - May 17, 2015

Come support the thousands of triathletes at the Honolulu Triathlon.The 12th annual event begins and ends in Ala Moana Beach Park, so make your way over to see these triathletes and stop at Ala Moana Shopping Center for some great shopping.

Lantern Floating Ceremony - May 25, 2015

This beautiful and stirring tradition is held every year on Memorial Day, at Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park to set afloat 3,000 candlelit lanterns in memory of loved ones. The tradition originated in Japan and today thousands of all faiths take part in this beautiful ceremony.

KAUAI EVENTS

Hawaiian Islands Land Trust Talk Story Hike – May 2, 2015

Staying down by Poipu, how about an interesting hike and talk sponsored by the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust with Rupert Rowe of Hui o Kāneiolouma. You will visit the intact Hawaiian Village in Poipu. RSVP to Jennifer Luck, HILT Kauai Island Director, at 808-755-5707.

Kauai Island Crafters Fair – May 9, 2015

Looking for cool Hawaiian crafts to bring home? If you’re near Princeville on May 9, between 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, be sure to stop buy the Kauai Island Crafters Fair. Lots of hand-made items from the artisans on Kauai will be on display and for sale. Yummy local food will be available too, making it a fun place to enjoy lunch. Taking place at the Church of the Pacific, 5-4280 Kuhio Highway, Princeville.
