Sitting on a verdant bluff overlooking Makena Bay and the island of Kaho’olawe in the distance this private home offers all the accoutrements of modern living while nestled in place and time of relaxation and beauty.   A coral reef brightens the waters, as turtle often find refuge in this area.  During whale season (December – May) it’s not unusual to see whale spouts in the distance along Kaho’olawe island.  Ocean views embrace this home from many levels while white sand beaches can be found within a 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk.  Kayak tours launch frequently from neighboring Makena Landing Park

Offering luxurious and comfortable accommodations for up to 8 guests, this Makena vacation rental is perfect for your family or couples retreat.  Featuring a contemporary warm style with four-bedroom.  A gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar flows openly to the living room and dining areas offers panoramic ocean views as the great room doors slide open from both directions and pocket back out of view.

Guests will love dipping in the private pool to soak up the Maui sun or if you prefer, relax poolside on one of the sumptuous chaise lounge chairs while enjoying your favorite book. When the sun sets, take a dip into the hot tub while you gaze at the open sky, perfect for stargazing. The lanai also features a covered tiki bar and BBQ grill, making it easy to grill up the fresh catch of the day while enjoying the pool..  

Each room delights and the entire home is air-conditioned for constant comfort. Three of the guest suites boast en-suite bathrooms and the two top level guest suites feature private lanais for uninterrupted ocean views.  The lower level guest suite includes a comfortable sitting room with TV and sofa.  All three guest suites feature a King-size bed while the fourth bedroom offers a comfortable Queen. The master suite offers walk-in closet, and custom wood cabinetry throughout. All rooms come with flat-screen TV’s and Blu-ray DVD players, the perfect set up for family movie nights after adventurous days on the island!

South Maui is full of fun for everyone and it’s only a 5-minute drive to restaurants, shops, and golf courses. Wailea is also well-known for its calm, warm water and there is close access to snorkeling, kayaking or SUP boarding, and even scuba diving.

Please enjoy this home and share in the use and care of all of its beauty and amenities. This is a private home rather than a commercial property. A considerable amount of time and resources are expended in maintaining the warmth and livability of this home,
so please enjoy it in the spirit of Aloha.

We ask you to kindly review our HOUSE POLICES:

IMPORTANT MATTERS:

  1. Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time any noise from this home shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.

  2. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.

  3. Amplified sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries is prohibited.

  4. Vehicles shall be parked in the two-car garage or in the two-car driveway and shall not be parked on the street.

  5. The home may not be used for parties or group gatherings other than registered guests.

  6. Shoreline use in Hawai`i is the property of the people of Hawai`i, and is open for the free use by everyone.

  7. Please always remove footwear when entering the carpeted master bedroom or walking on floor rugs.

  8. Please dry your feet before entering the home from the pool area.

  9. Please immediately notify us in the event of any mechanical defect.

  10. Certain closets/cabinets throughout the home may be latched/locked. These closets are off-limits and should

    not be tampered with.

  11. It is very important that garbage be taken to the street Tuesday evening for collections on Wednesday morning

    to avoid unwanted pests. Rubbish bins are located in the garage.

  12. Please insure there is always a responsible adult supervising any children in the pool area or when visiting the ocean.

  13. Be safe, no running on the pool deck and no jumping into the pool.

  14. Located in a kitchen draw under the printer are binders with zip-pouches holding user guides for everything in the house as well as user codes and house general information. 

    TENDER CARE: We are making available our home for your enjoyment. We would appreciate it if you could treat the home as you would treat your own home by:

    1)  not smoking. Please do not throw butts into the garden or ocean. Maui is home to rare sea turtles that live on the pebble beach fronting this property and will swallow cigarette butts causing illness or worse.

    2)  not eating or bringing food into the bedrooms.

    3)  not sitting on any of the indoor furniture with wet bathing suits and please completely wash off sand and sun protection products before sitting on furniture to avoid causing a need to re-cover. There is a shower located just within the ocean access gate for your use.

Your consideration will be most appreciated. Management reserves the right to cancel any rental contract for violations of the above house policies.

 

HOME ACCESS

Ø Keys are in the kitchen for your use.
Ø Please see the red Home Use Info binder located in the kitchen draw under the printer for:

  • Internet access password.

  • Front gate remote opening & closing with phone system.

  • Front gate access code to use on keypad outside.

  • Garage Door code

    ALARM Please see directions to activate, customize and disarm the alarm posted next to each alarm keypad. Please always set alarm at night when sleeping and when leaving house. At check-in you will be given you your visitor code for the alarm system.

    It is always a great idea to practice arming and disarming a new system with someone that is familiar with the system when you check in.

    If the alarm is set off: The monitoring company will then call on the house phone. You will need to give them your name and tell them you are a guest. They will then call the owner representative to confirm you as a guest and disarm the alarm.

    PROPERTY MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE:

    Garbage Instructions – Please collect the garbage from the house and take it to the bins in the garage daily. Please put full trash bags out on curb on Tuesday night for an early Wednesday morning picked up.

    Sprinklers – the sprinklers are automatic and come on during the night:
    Pool Maintenance - the service technician performs weekly service on Mondays; Yard Maintenance - the service technicians perform weekly service:

    AIR CONDITIONING

    Please see instructions posted next to thermostats.

    DOORS/WINDOWS

    Although you are in paradise and apt to put security concerns out of your mind, please exercise caution by locking all doors and windows and setting the home alarm if you go out and locking all ground level sliding doors while sleeping in the evening.

    POOL/SPA

    Pool and spa temperatures are preset. To avoid an additional fuel charge or the possibility of running out of fuel do not change the call-out temperatures of the pool and spa and be sure and follow the directions of the spa when used to insure system is returned to pool mode when done with the spa. Directions are posted next to control box. Please do not take inside towels to the pool. There are larger pool towels in the laundry room for the pool and beach. Please insure there is always a responsible adult supervising any children in the pool area or when visiting the ocean. Pregnant women and person with heart problems should not use a heated whirlpool. No running on pool deck and no jumping into pool.

    TV INSTRUCTIONS

    All TVs are set up with Direct TV and can be operated with the Direct TV Remotes. The remotes are specific to each TV so please do not move them from room to room.

    WASHING HOUSE LINENS: Please wash colors separately. Linens can become discolored or damaged by guests washing them together with dark colors.

     

PAPER & SOAP PRODUCTS: The house is stocked with an initial supply. Once consumed, please purchase, as you require. No need to replenish prior to departure.

GECKOS: They are gentle creatures that resemble lizards and eat bugs. Please pardon our geckos. Mother nature is still in control of our environment here in Hawaii. They are a natural pest control system. They may occasionally chirp so do not be alarmed.

ANTS & ASSORTED INSECTS: You may see small ants or other assorted insects around the home. They are impossible to eradicate in this tropical environment. They are attracted to the cool, moist environment that a house provides and should not be construed as a sign of uncleanliness. They particularly enjoy food that is left lying out. You can help reduce their visits by keeping the counters and sink clear of any open food and washing dishes promptly. Although the home is routinely sprayed for such insects, we cannot eliminate them.

During your stay, you may encounter some of the following, but don’t be alarmed as the majority are harmless: Spiders - Roaches - Centipedes-

Cane spiders are rather large and look ominous; they are not poisonous and usually try to avoid people.
You may experience the flying ones; they are harmless. Keep screens, doors and windows closed, especially at night, to keep them out.

Show up on occasion. They will sting, but are not poisonous, unless you are allergic. It is always good to wear slippers at night to avoid encounters. Sweeping them outside is best.

NOISE: You are living in a residential neighborhood and there are neighbors next door to you. Your cooperation in being considerate of them will be greatly appreciated and expected. Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time any noise from this home shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.

FURNITURE: If you have oil or suntan cream on, do not sit on padded furniture indoor or out-door unless you sit on a towel. In short, show the same consideration to the furniture as if the home was yours. Please do not take any furniture from inside the house to the outside.

CONSERVATION: Electricity and water are very precious commodities here on Maui. It is very important that you be aware of good conservation habits. Avoid leaving lights on when they are not needed and turning off the air-conditioning units when windows or doors are open or when you leave the home for long periods of time.

OCEAN DISCLAIMER: The shore break and wave activity can vary from hour to hour in all locations on the island so please consult with county lifeguard staff (where available) regarding safe swimming conditions and strictly observe all posted signs and flags. Never turn your back to the ocean when in the water and never swim alone or in an area where you see no one else in the water. You enter the ocean at your own risk. Do not underestimate the power of waves breaking off the shoreline. Jellyfish or other stingers can be present in all Hawai’ian waters each month during the full moon or after a strong swell.

CHECK-OUT GUIDELINES:

We will have a professional cleaning service do a touch up mid-week cleaning during your stay and a complete cleaning after your departure. Please turn off all ceiling fans, a/c, lights, stereo and lock all doors and close all windows. Please make sure that the front door is locked. Please contact the management with your questions regarding checkout or any other matters.
